“Document capture” is a term
which refers to the conversion of a paper document into
an electronic document. For doing this conversion you
need the help of document capture software which comes
along with the document capture device. There are many
types of document capture devices present in the market.

scanner. We all know what a scanner is..
It is a device very similar to the Xerox machine. There

as a darker version of the original document. To avoid
these kinds of unwanted problems the best solution is to
use document capture software.
There is nothing as “the” document capture software. It
totally depends on the scanner which you are using. With
every new scanner that you purchase you will be given
document capture software of that particular scanner.
All you are required to do is to put this software in
your computer and follow then instructions on the
screen. Once the installation is complete you can start
capturing your precious documents without worrying about
excess time consumption or inadequate lighting
conditions (and therefore a dark version of the original
document).
Document capture software is like a language. If a
person doesn’t know a particular language then he/she
will not be able to speak in that language although they
can speak in other languages. Similarly, your computer
will not be able to capture document for you, although
it has the document capture device attached to itself,
unless you have the document capture software installed
in it. Technically even the Bluetooth software can be
termed as document capture software. However we
generally don’t consider it so.
The reason is that the Bluetooth software is used for
transferring other kinds of files. For example games can
be transferred from the computer to the cell phone via
the Bluetooth. And the transfer of the game has nothing
do to with capturing a document. Therefore, only the
scanning software is treated as document capture
software. The market is full of such software all you
need to do is to select one which suits your
necessities.
